Below I have included the simple text files that the Across-Lite
software
uses to create the "puz" files that it needs to run.
Instructions for Downloading "TEXT" files:
1. Click on the text file corresponding to the crossword
puzzle number
you want to download (they
are at the bottom of this page)
2. Go to the top left-hand corner of the screen and
click on the word "FILE" then click on the
words "SAVE AS" and save the
file as a "text" file.
3.CAUTION: make sure that you save the
text file in the proper Across Lite folder -
for most people this will be
found on your hard drive in the Programs folder on "C" drive
it should be saved in -
C:/program files/litsoft/Across Lite/puzzles
This is the folder that the Across
Lite software looks for puzzles to play
4. After you have successfully downloaded the text
file into the proper folder then you
can open the Across Lite program
5. Once the Across Lite program is opened you will see
a box with "OPEN" on it - this
is the folder where the software
keeps all the "puz" files and the text files.
At the bottom of the "OPEN" box
there is the words "files of type" with a drop down
menu - from that menu chose "TEXT"
files or "ALL FILES"
Click on the file that you just
downloaded and the software will automatically make it
into a crossword puzzle to play
- then save it immediately as a "puz" file.
